European Stocks Rise Amid Energy Gains

European stocks opened higher on Friday, buoyed by gains in the energy sector, but are on track for their worst week in nearly two months.


European equities rose upon the opening due to the growth in the energy sector stocks; however, they are aimed at securing their worst week in almost two months. The Stockholm index OMXS30 increased by 0.2% at the start of trading. Additionally, the European index FTSEurofirst 300 added 0.1%...

Investors continue to monitor the pandemic situation and were disappointed by the extension of the lifespan of pandemic-related obligations in the US and Europe for one month, indicating increased pressure on the markets.

"European stocks rise on the backdrop of strengthening prices for oil and gas, as well as on the backdrop of macroeconomic data," the analyst reported.

Energy sector stocks continue to show strong results, supported by rising oil prices in connection with tensions in the Middle East.
