
A few famous cyclists who have won in previous editions of "Tour de France" announced their participation in the opening of the "Dubai Tour for Cycling", which will take place on February 1-2 in Dubai. Yesterday, the Dubai Sports Council held a press conference where international stars were represented, participating in the "Dubai Tour for Cycling". Among them are cycling icons, the three-time winner of the "Tour de France" Jan Svorada, and also three-time world champion, Belgian Peter Fluits.
The manager of the sports events department of the Dubai Sports Council, Ali Omar, stated: "Dubai has become a global center for organizing international cycling competitions and is gaining popularity among cycling enthusiasts due to the diverse and safe routes across hundreds of kilometers throughout Dubai." He added that in February, six international and local cyclists will take place in Dubai.
He also noted that the "Dubai Tour" has become part of a multitude of international competitions held in Dubai and has its uniqueness thanks to its connection with a global event, such as the "Tour de France". The event is primarily intended for professional cyclists from all over the world coming to Dubai to participate in the "Dubai Tour" and assess the high level of organization.
The race starts in the Dubai Design District, then passes through various residential and tourist zones, as well as through the project areas, where cycling routes have been created among artificial lakes, and concludes at the Expo 2020 Dubai site, which has become a global center for various international economic and sporting events.
Among the stars of world cycling participating in the "Dubai Tour for Cycling," will be Jan Svorada, three-time winner of the "Tour de France", and also the winner of "Giro d'Italia" and "Vuelta a EspaƱa", and three-time world champion, Belgian Peter Fluits; his brother Martin Fluits, a leading member of the elite cycling teams, and Jacob Truskav, an emerging talent representing the next generation of this sport.
