His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced 2025 as the Year of Society under the theme "Hand in Hand" as part of a national initiative reflecting the leadership's vision for a united and strong society.
The Year of Society is aimed at strengthening family and community ties through the preservation of cultural heritage, the development of intergenerational connections, and the creation of inclusive spaces that foster cooperation, belonging, and shared experiences.
The initiative also calls on everyone, whom it refers to as UAE nationals, to actively contribute to society through public service, volunteering, and impactful initiatives that promote a culture of collective responsibility and contribute to collective progress.
In addition, this Year of Society is targeted at developing the potential and opportunities of individuals, families, and organizations through skill development, talent identification, and the promotion of innovations in fields such as entrepreneurship and emerging sectors, including artificial intelligence, along with other priorities for the UAE to ensure inclusive growth and long-term positive impact.
The initiative will be led by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, as well as Her Highness Sheikh Mariam bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chair of the Presidential Court for national projects.
Throughout the year, numerous events and initiatives will be launched to strengthen community ties, support Emirati values, and ensure an environment where everyone can contribute to progress.
The initiative invites all community members—citizens and residents—to share their ideas and proposals that can strengthen social cohesion, contribute to the progress of society, and highlight a culture of diversity that defines the UAE in supporting the construction of a strong and thriving nation.
