Dubai Municipality has significantly increased its tree-planting efforts, from 35,666 trees in 2017 to 216,500 trees in 2024. This growth underscores the city's dedication to creating a greener and more sustainable urban environment. The municipality's agricultural initiatives are setting global benchmarks, blending modernity with greenery and conforming with the Urban Environment pillar of the 'Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033'.

As part of its broader greening initiatives, Dubai Municipality planted 5.3 million seedlings of flowers and ornamental plants, along with replacing 45 million seasonal flowers throughout the year. They also completed 165 beautification projects through the Dubai Green Project to increase green areas and provide better access to green spaces per capita. Badr Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, emphasized the importance of these projects in enhancing sustainability and aesthetic appeal within the city.

The 2024 projects of Dubai Municipality include landscaping and greening key intersections and bridges like Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Jamayel Street, and Al Khail Road. The efforts contribute to sustainability, enhancing the city's allure while preserving its urban character. These initiatives have led to a daily average of 600 trees planted in Dubai.

The Municipality's afforestation and landscaping endeavors have resulted in a 57% growth in green spaces, expanding by 391.5 hectares in 2024. This growth supports the municipality's goal to double green spaces supervised, exceeding 52 million square meters by the year's end. Dubai Municipality has integrated advanced agricultural technologies, including a sustainable irrigation system utilizing recycled water, to reduce water consumption and preserve environmental resources.

A diverse range of trees, including indigenous species like Ghaf, Sidr, and Samar, have been planted to further enrich the city's greenery. The inclusion of ornamental trees like neem, olive, Indian jasmine, and various palm varieties enhances the landscape. Alongside the tree-planting efforts, over 48.13 million seedlings were produced at the Warsan Nursery in 2024, encompassing seasonal flowers, ornamental trees, and native species for various projects across residential and urban areas, road intersections, parks, and recreational facilities.
