Recently, the Scientific and Cultural Center organized an exhibition of cartoons under the title "Cartoons in Newspapers and Social Media." The event featured participation from Saudi writer and cartoonist Dr. Ali al-Kuhaysi and Syrian artist-cartoonist Khalid Jalal. The president of the Scientific and Cultural Center, Bilal al-Badur, opened the exhibition, which showcased 140 cartoons, 70 works by each of the participants.
The cartoons address social, behavioral, and media issues related to communication, shedding light on several important problems. At the exhibition, the Scientific and Cultural Center held a round table with the participation of the artists involved in the exhibition. The moderator was writer and researcher Ali al-Abdan, who emphasized the importance of this theme, which often remains unnoticed, especially in the context of the decline of classical press.
He noted that Dubai has produced the first cartoonists in the UAE, such as Galeb Mari, Mohamad Amin Gayat, Amer al-Hashimi, and others.
