The International Literature Festival "Emirates Lit Fest" in Dubai celebrates its 17th anniversary with new ideas of collaboration. This time, an agreement has been signed between the ELF publishing house and the National Media Council of the United Arab Emirates for the promotion of Emirati literature and talents worldwide.
The Secretary-General of the National Media Council, Mohammed Saeed Al-Shahhi, the Executive Director of the Strategy and Media Politics Sector, Meita Majid Al-Suveidi, and the director of the "Emirates Lit Fest" foundation, Akhlam Blukey, were present at the signing ceremony.
The "Emirates Lit Fest" project aims to improve the artistic value in the country, expand international visibility for Arab talents, and enrich global literary content from the UAE. "For the past 15 years, we have actively built and developed the festival, making it one of the leading literary events in the world. Today, we are focusing on creating new initiatives, partnerships, and projects in the field of literature and culture that will have a significant effect," Akhlam Blukey emphasized.
Meita Majid Al-Suveidi noted that it is important today not just to spread Arab literature but also to contribute to its global integration, supporting and publicly showcasing the works of local talents on the international stage. "We have seen how our efforts have placed Arab literature on the map of global culture and literature," said Meita Majid Al-Suveidi.
Additionally, the mission of "Emirates Lit Fest" includes various initiatives, such as the participation of local writers in major book fairs in Bologna, Seoul, and Frankfurt to present their work, as well as protecting the interests of Emirati authors and the legacy of national literature before a global audience. "Our goal is to expand the potential of Arab literature and create new opportunities for local talents. We are proud of our achievements and look forward to further development thanks to our partnerships," concluded Akhlam Blukey.
