As part of the 13th Sikka Art and Design Festival, under the guidance of Sheikh Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a variety of artistic experiments is presented. The event takes place in the historic district of Shindagha and gathers more than 250 creative individuals from the UAE, the Persian Gulf, and from all over the world.
The organization 'Quality of Life in Dubai' includes 19 curated artistic and floral installations under the direction of the festival's artistic director Sheikh Maktoum bin Marwan Al Maktoum. Among them are 'House of Design' with six innovative works, 'Please Pay Attention' focusing on cultural-architectural elements of the locality.
Thus, Indian Akbar Anwar Vutihazi documents moments after Friday prayer in Dubai, while the Omani company 'Takdim' demonstrates the design 'Inner Courtyard' reflecting the essence of local architecture. Filipino Gerard Roxas Rashidan explores 'We Hear You', and Palestinian Amr Majhoun reanimates a significant part of Emirati architectural heritage.
Also participating are Indian Aishwarya Patel, while through the project 'Future Dates' the Emirati researcher Jamana Al Hashimi uses aromas as a means to create an immersive sensory experience, enriching artistic content. The exhibition reveals the theme of private gardens in Dubai, as well as the works of students from the Institute of Arts and Design at Zayed University.
Each of the prepared 'houses' is a small artistic microcosm. For instance, 'House of Urbanization' with an array of recommendations from Lebanese Ahmed Makari, 'Searching Between Hope and Destruction' by Indian Vats Patel, and the work of Iranian Kava Akhjdar on human feelings. Each artwork presents its own unique and successful expressive ideas and emotions.
Other houses, such as 'House of Memory and its Echo' with an exhibition of creations based on the analysis of the past and present, or 'Studio ThirtyTwo' with the theme 'Society', with successful combinations of traditional art and contemporary technologies, as well as 'House of Reality' with digital works, showcase a magnificent artistic resonance.
Thus, participants of the Sikka festival demonstrate different performances, creating a unique atmosphere of artistic inspiration and creativity.
