The event "Assatar Aurum" presented by artists Abdelrahim Salem and Aisha Hadad at the Cultural and Scientific Forum in Dubai represents not just a simple dual exhibition, but a unique artistic journey around the world, telling about human heritage and the myths of humanity, leading us into deeper dimensions of color, form, and structure.
The exhibition was opened by the chairman of the "Mukhammada bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library" administration, Mohammedi Ahmed, in the presence of the Ambassador of Belgium to the UAE, Antuan Delkora, chairman of the Bilal al-Badur administration, replacement of the chairman of the administration Ali Abeed al-Hamli, administrative director Dr. Salah al-Kasima and a number of artists and interested parties.
The exhibition features 40 works, and the word "Aurum" in Nubian translates to "black color", which is considered the color of all colors, unifying them. It evokes various associations with ancient civilizations, representing power, progeny and sovereignty, as well as nobility, greatness and obscurity, and also the symbol of evil and a connection to the underworlds.
Artist and sculptor from the UAE Abdelrahim Salem presents a series of paintings that embody stone and their philosophical meaning. The stone was the first tool of murder and building, symbolizing resistance and resilience. The black stone, the oldest of all stones on Earth, was used by ancient Egyptians to create mighty structures, although in some cases it is simply considered a worthless stone.
Artist Aisha Hadad presents a collection of works that first demonstrate and reflect the depth of human interaction in time and space. She explores patterns and traditional ornaments, present in human history from the Middle Ages to the 60s of the 20th century, highlighting universal symbols, regardless of the distance and absence of connections in certain periods.
Artists Abdelrahim Salem and Aisha Hadad, possessing an interest in heritage, art and myths, made black color a key element of their works, choosing to unite them in this common journey through different countries of the world.
