
The UAE has successfully secured a position on the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) for the term spanning from 2025 to 2029. This accomplishment was revealed at the 51st meeting of the UNWTO Regional Committee for the Middle East, hosted in Doha, Qatar. Leading the UAE delegation during this event was Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, who serves as the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy.
The meeting agenda primarily revolved around deliberations on various tourism schemes and ventures that are slated to be executed under the committee's purview. These initiatives are meticulously designed to bolster the advancement and expansion of the tourism industry within the region.
In a statement following the announcement, Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh expressed his gratitude for the renewed trust placed in the UAE to continue serving on the Executive Council of the UNWTO.
