
The organizing committee of the 'Nadd Al Sheba Sports Day' announced the completion of preparations for the launch of the largest sporting event of its kind, initiated and supported by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence. The annual event takes place during the holy month of Ramadan at the Nadd Al Sheba sports complex under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, under the slogan 'Unlimited Opportunities.'
The committee announced the closure of registration today for participation in competitions in weightlifting, jiu-jitsu, and obstacle course. March 2 will be the last date for registering players to participate in the volleyball tournament, while registration for running and badminton tournaments will continue until March 3. Registration for archery (laser tag) will proceed until the following month's Saturday, and for velodrome — until March 9.
The organizers confirmed the venues for the competitions, including those included in this year's program. In the main hall of the Nadd Al Sheba sports complex, competitions in volleyball, jiu-jitsu, fencing, archery (laser tag), and the basketball tournament finals on hoops will take place. The badminton tournament will be held in the adjacent hall, designated for this kind of sport, while running will be on the track. The velodrome will run along Maydan Avenue and various areas of the Muhammed bin Rashid estate, while competitions in weightlifting, obstacle course, and badminton tournament will be in the Nadd Al Sheba sports complex.
