At the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation museum in Dubai, an exhibition titled 'Words, Embraced by Beauty' has started, inspired by the poems of the contemporary poet Sultan bin Ali Al Owais, marking the 100th anniversary of his birthday.
Before the audience made up of dozens of artists, intellectuals, and connoisseurs, the exhibition titled 'Words, Embraced by Beauty' was inaugurated by a member of the board of trustees of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, writer Abdulfahur Hussein, accompanied by the General Secretary of the foundation Abdulkhamid Akhmed, and a member of the board of trustees, Dr. Fatima Al Saygh.
The exhibition, featuring 76 works of art by 56 artists from the UAE, the Arab world, and beyond, presents works across various genres - Arabic calligraphy, oil and watercolor paintings, sculptures, and artistic compositions.
All the works displayed in the exhibition were inspired by the poetry of Sultan Al Owais, where in the sculptural and artistic works the lines depict the life of the poet, his ideas, and patriotic values, while in the calligraphic works, verses from poems that became colored artistic icons reflect the deep understanding of the artists of his poetic significance on emotional, national, and social levels.
The exhibition featured many renowned artists, such as Ihsan Khatib, Ahmed Al-Aoudi, Amir Philosoph, Basam Al-Sair, Bashir Bashir, Taj As Sir Hassan, George Sabahi, and others.
This exhibition is part of the celebrations of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation's museum's centenary since the birthday of the poet (1925-2025), where the foundation conducts cultural events throughout the year celebrating his literary legacy and humanitarian achievements.
This year, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared this year as the World Cultural Year in honor of the poet of love and beauty Sultan bin Ali Al Owais.
