
The largest airlines, Emirates Airlines and Flydubai, have transported around 68.6 million passengers. It is planned that both companies will launch flights to seven new destinations from their hubs in Dubai in July of this year, and will also resume seasonal routes with some seasonal destinations and increase the frequency of flights to others.
Emirates Airlines aims to strengthen its position in the Asian continent by launching daily direct flights between Dubai and Shenyang in China from July 1, and also starting four flights weekly to Danang, Vietnam, from June 2, and three flights weekly to Siem Reap, Cambodia, from June 3, connecting these cities through the Thai capital, Bangkok.
Flydubai, in turn, announced the launch of four new routes to Iran - Bushehr, Tabriz from March 13, Kish Island from March 14, and also starts flights to Antalya, Turkey, from June 5 with weekly flights. Additionally, Flydubai will resume seasonal flights to the cities of Bodrum and Trabzon, as well as to Antalya in Turkey from June to September 2025.
Both airlines currently offer flights to 273 international destinations using a fleet of 347 aircraft. Emirates Airlines operates passenger and cargo flights to 148 destinations in 80 countries, while Flydubai flies to more than 125 destinations in 55 countries in Africa, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, Central and Eastern Europe, the Gulf countries, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
Emirates Airlines and Flydubai merged seven years ago, providing passengers with unique access to an interconnected flight network and opening new opportunities for distance and accessibility, changing future travel in and through Dubai. Since then, they have completed more than 1.5 million flights from 2017 to November 2024, and transported more than 19 million passengers through the joint network, which is equivalent to the population of Paris and New York.
Emirates Airlines operates a fleet of 259 wide-body aircraft including Airbus A380 and Boeing 777, while Flydubai operates a single fleet of 88 Boeing 737 aircraft, including 29 new Boeing 737-800s, 56 Boeing 737 Max 8s, and three Boeing 737 Max 9s.
