New Bridge Opens in Dubai Enhancing Road Connectivity

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened a key bridge connecting Jumeirah Street with Al Mina Street towards Infinity Bridge. The total length of the structure is 985 meters, with two traffic lanes, and it can accommodate up to 3,200 transport vehicles per hour. The bridge is part of the Fourth Phase of the Al-Shindagha Improvement Project, which stretches 4.8 kilometers from the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street to the Falcon intersection on Al Mina Street.

RTA continues to implement the directives of the Dubai leadership for project development, improving the road network and transportation flow in the Al-Shindagha region. The new bridge significantly enhances transportation accessibility and reduces travel time by 67% — from 12 minutes to 4, for drivers moving from Jumeirah Street towards Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street. This ensures uninterrupted traffic movement on the bridge without stopping at traffic lights.

The fourth phase of the project also includes five additional bridges with a total length of 3.1 kilometers, designed to accommodate 19,400 transport vehicles per hour across all lanes. This will help reduce daily traffic congestion for drivers, especially those moving from Jumeirah Street to Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street. RTA announced the bridge's opening on its official Twitter page, noting that it allows vehicles to move freely without stopping at traffic lights.

The new bridge in Dubai is now open, significantly reducing travel times from Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street towards Infinity Bridge by more than half. According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the bridge cuts travel times from 12 minutes to just 4. At its core lies the fourth-phase improvement project of the Al-Shindagha Project. Plans also include two pedestrian bridges — one on Sheikh Rashid Road and another on Al Mina Street.

The second significant phase is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025, with a planned completion involving the construction of a 780-meter three-lane bridge connecting Infinity Bridge to Al Wasl Road via Al Mina Street. This project spans 4.8 kilometers from the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street to the Falcon intersection on Al Mina Street. Furthermore, the fourth phase includes one more bridge with three lanes, measuring 780 meters, which will help vehicles move from the Falcon intersection to Al Wasl Street. The goal is to ensure smooth transportation flow and reduce delays for drivers using these key routes in the city. RTA has opened a key bridge connecting Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street towards Infinity Bridge. This marks a quick and convenient journey for those heading towards Infinity Bridge. This bridge is part of a larger project titled The Fourth Phase of the Al-Shindagha Improvement Project. The package of work includes road improvements over 4.8 kilometers, as well as enhancements of key intersections on Jumeirah, Al Mina, and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah streets. There will also be enhancements made to roads and intersections in the surrounding areas. The overall capacity across all lanes in this phase is estimated at 19,400 transport vehicles per hour. After it goes into operation, the bridge will be able to maintain up to 4,800 transport vehicles per hour.
