
Analysts, developers, and investors from more than 1500 participating companies gathered in Dubai to participate in the most significant event of the gaming industry in the region - the "GameExpo 2025", which started yesterday in the "Zabeel 1" conference hall of the World Trade Center. This event is part of the fourth year of the Dubai Festival of Digital Games and Sports 2025, organized by Dubai's festival management and trade under the support of Pocket Gamer Connects and in cooperation with the Department of Economics and Tourism of Dubai.
The summit includes over nine specialized tracks dedicated to artificial intelligence, Web3 technologies, metaverse, monetization models, user engagement, and game development. Open discussions evaluate the growth potential of the gaming industry in the Middle East and Northern Africa, providing a platform for discussing innovations and investments.
At the summit, investment issues and development perspectives of the industry are discussed, including in a dialogue format with over 70 speakers, among which are the Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy and Remote Work Omar Sultan Al Olama, Deputy Director of the Artificial Intelligence Properties Ministry of Economic Development Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Maini, and the Acting Director of SME Development Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and the Director of Du Fakhri al-Hasha.
Within the framework of the summit, various events are presented, including the launch of the "Investment Summit" for discussing capital direction in the gaming sector and organizing PitchPlay with the center of multidimensional trade Dubai, aiming to present opportunities for attracting investments to startups and obtaining a prize of a total of 55 thousand dirhams, as well as the conduct of The Very Big Indie Pitch event dedicated to independent game developers.
The summit also includes the Big Indie Zone for the demonstration of independent projects, as well as the Futura Advice Pitstop area, where specialized legal and financial consulting will be provided. The defining characteristics of the "Gaming Industry Growth Award in the Middle East and Northern Africa" focus on outstanding contributions from developers, publishers, and technology partners, emphasizing innovations and individual achievements in the field of digital games and sports.
