The Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation will host a musical concert performed by the Fujairah Academy of Arts Orchestra. The event will take place on November 13th in the Al Baraha hall at the InterContinental Dubai - Festival City hotel, as part of the awards ceremony for the 19th cycle of the Al Owais Cultural Prize. The concert will feature a tribute to a group of Arab creators. The poetry prize was awarded to the Iraqi poet Hamid Said, the prizes for short story, novel, and playwriting went to the Iraqi writer Inam Kaj Jihi, the prizes for literary studies and criticism were given to the Moroccan critic Hamid al-Hamadani, and the prize for human studies and future studies was awarded to the Tunisian thinker Abdeljelil Tamimi. The Fujairah Academy of Arts Orchestra is one of the leading cultural initiatives in the emirate of Fujairah. It was launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, in 2025, under the supervision of the Fujairah Academy of Arts. The orchestra comprises a distinguished group of young musicians, students, and teachers of the academy. Its goal is to discover, develop, and train musical talents to the highest academic standards. The orchestral ensembles include instruments such as the violin, cello, and guitar, as well as Eastern instruments like the oud and qanun, in addition to vocals. They are trained by a select group of experts and specialists. The orchestra has presented a series of distinguished performances at local and international venues within the UAE, as well as participated in international events in Uzbekistan and others, in addition to organizing regular musical concerts in the emirate of Fujairah. In its performances, the orchestra blends Western classical music with authentic Arab heritage in a contemporary style that reflects the identity of the emirate, and contributes to enhancing its position as a renewed cultural and creative center in the UAE's artistic scene.
