Dubai, UAE — A fighter jet crashed during an air show at the Dubai Air Show, resulting in the death of an Indian Air Force pilot.
The Indian Tejas LCA fighter jet was participating in the air show when the accident occurred. The pilot on board was killed instantly.
The United Arab Emirates has expressed its solidarity with India over the tragic incident. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, to the government and the friendly people of India on this unfortunate incident."
The organizers of the Dubai Air Show also expressed their deepest condolences to the pilot's family and affirmed their solidarity with them during this painful time. The organizing committee also offered its condolences to the Indian Air Force.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and President of Emirates Group, also offered his condolences to the pilot's family and colleagues.
In a statement, he wrote: "With deep sorrow, we are following the unfortunate incident that occurred today during the Dubai Air Show."
