TikTok and the 'Billion Followers Summit' have announced a partnership to launch the first edition of the 'Educational Content Creators Award', the first initiative of its kind globally. This award will celebrate content creators who are reinventing online learning methods. Applications are open to content creators from the Middle East and North Africa, Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States, from yesterday until December 21, 2025, by showcasing educational content that inspires their communities and has a tangible impact on the ground. The award will be held as part of the fourth edition of the Billion Followers Summit, the world's largest content economy summit, organized by the Media Office of the Government of the United Arab Emirates from January 9 to 11, 2026, at the Emirates Towers, Dubai International Financial Centre, and the Museum of the Future, under the theme 'Purposeful Content'. The award invites content creators from around the world to share entertaining educational content that helps make learning accessible to all, through the TikTok platform, which aims to empower creators to turn knowledge into a means of inspiration, ranging from history lessons and life skills tips, to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics experiments, and entrepreneurship advice. Three finalists will be selected and invited to attend the summit's events in Dubai, with the winner announced on January 10, 2026, who will receive a $100,000 cash prize from the Billion Followers Summit in recognition of their contribution to global learning efforts. Khadija Hussein, Executive Director of the Government Communication Sector at the Media Office of the Government of the UAE and Deputy Director of the Billion Followers Summit, stated that the summit continues to build strong partnerships with various global digital media platforms to open doors for creators in our region and around the world to be active players in shaping the future of the content industry and contributing to positive community change. She confirmed that the partnership between the Billion Followers Summit and TikTok to launch the 'Educational Content Creators Award' is of great importance, as purposeful educational content is a powerful tool for positive change, building communities, and equipping youth with knowledge. She added that the award reflects the success of the Billion Followers Summit in establishing itself as a global platform that attracts content creators and entrepreneurs from around the world, encouraging them to produce positive, purposeful knowledge and content, which enhances the UAE's position as a global center for innovative and creative educational content. Khadija Hussein noted that the 'Educational Content Creators Award' gives creators a strong incentive to turn their passion and expertise into innovative content and provide distinguished educational content that enriches the educational ecosystem, encourages the new generation to learn, and makes knowledge accessible to all. The 'Educational Content Creators Award' represents a new milestone in TikTok's ongoing commitment to making learning easier, more engaging, and more connected to communities. Building on the success of the #LearnOnTikTok initiative, the award celebrates creators who turn knowledge into creativity and present complex concepts in the form of inspiring, real-world lessons that reach billions of viewers daily. Through this partnership with the Billion Followers Summit, TikTok highlights innovation, originality, and the power of knowledge sharing on a global scale. Educational content on TikTok can take many forms, from a short historical story to an inspiring science experiment, a productivity tip that changes the course of your day, a language lesson that connects cultures, or an entrepreneurship tip that helps turn ideas into reality. The award encourages creators to explore five themes that reflect the diversity of the global community: Humanities, Self-Development, School Education, Science and Innovation, and Business and Finance.
