The historic 'Qalat Katif' in the Al Dhafra region is preparing to receive visitors for the Liwa International Festival 2026. The archaeological site has completed all arrangements and is providing all necessary requirements for visitors, as it represents a significant historical heritage in the Al Dhafra region with its architectural elements, geometric decorations, and gutters made from palm trunks and wood.

Hotels in the Al Dhafra region are witnessing a high demand from guests of the Liwa International Festival, coinciding with the various activities within the festival, which is currently running until January 3rd of next year.

Hamid Matar Al-Zahiri, CEO of Adnec Group, confirmed that the sustainability of the 2026 Liwa Festival reflects the wise leadership's commitment to supporting entertainment and community activities, considering them a cornerstone of enhancing quality of life and highlighting the emirate's status as a global destination attracting various segments of society and visitors of all ages.

Al-Zahiri added that the festival is a comprehensive event that combines entertainment, culture, sports, and heritage, with its continuous development aligning with public expectations and reflecting Abu Dhabi's vision of offering quality experiences that cater to both families and youth.

Al-Zahiri extended his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra region, for his unlimited support in making the event a success, as well as to the organizing committee and all national institutions working to present it in a manner befitting the reputation and status of the Abu Dhabi emirate.

He explained that the festival features a diverse range of events and accompanying activities designed to suit various community segments, contributing to enhancing social interaction and celebrating cultural identity, while also providing a safe and comprehensive entertainment experience in an attractive family environment.

He pointed out that this year's edition is distinguished by the diversity of its events and its ability to attract an increasing number of visitors from within and outside the country, which underscores the festival's growing status and its role in supporting the tourism and economic momentum in the Abu Dhabi emirate.
