The Yasat Festival concluded its third edition in Al-Sila (Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi, UAE). Organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, the event took place from the 12th of this month on the waterfront of Al-Sila city. The festival featured a diverse range of activities, including traditional dhow races, marine and beach sports, heritage competitions, a popular market, folk arts performances, and handicraft workshops. A total of over seven million dirhams in prizes were awarded across 24 competitions. The festival concluded with the crowning of winners in the Yasat Championship for fish catching, the Yasat Regatta for modern sailing boats, as well as competitions in air rifle, archery, and beach volleyball for both adults and children. Zaid Saeed Al Mazroui, Acting Director of the Festivals Department at the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage, stated that the festival is one of the most prominent events that contribute to strengthening national identity. He described it as a heritage and social gathering that combines entertainment with knowledge transfer, achieving the authority's goals and commitment to preserving Emirati heritage. He added that the festival achieved remarkable success in terms of public engagement with its events, with participation from various age groups.
Yasat Festival concludes in UAE with AED 7 million in prizes
