The date competitions, held as part of the final events of the 19th edition of the Dhafra Festival, are witnessing widespread participation and strong competition among farmers. The festival's organizing committee has identified four types of dates for the competition: 'Fard', 'Dabas', 'Khlás', and 'Shishi', in addition to a date packaging competition. The committee has also set a number of conditions and criteria that must be met to participate in the different competition categories. In the 'Dabas' category, the first place was won by Hadd Muhammad Beloosh al-Mazroui, second place went to Abdullah Sultan al-Qubaisi, and third place to Muhammad Saif Marrash al-Marri. In the 'Khlás' category, first place was won by Rashid Said al-Aryani, second place by Fadel Umar al-Mansouri, and third place by Ali Said al-Aryani. The date competitions aim to encourage farmers to adhere to the best agricultural practices, motivate them to develop palm care methods, and enhance the status of dates as one of the country's leading agricultural products, supporting agricultural sustainability and preserving this important economic and food heritage.
