Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, stated: "The Reading Month is a leading national occasion that embodies the UAE's strategic commitment to building knowledge-based societies and achieving the goals of the National Reading Strategy, launched by the state to enhance the appeal of books and establish reading as a daily habit for individuals of all interests and age groups." He added that the Foundation continues to launch and implement quality initiatives that support the objectives of the National Reading Strategy. Key among these initiatives are the Digital Knowledge Center and the Dubai International Writing Programme. Furthermore, the Foundation has distributed over 60,000 books under the 'My Family Reads' initiative.
