Dubai Celebrates Eid Al-Fitr with Series of Cultural Events

In line with its efforts to support entrepreneurs and empower them to showcase their products to the public, 'Dubai Culture' will dedicate a special corner for a number of brands and startups in the food and beverage sector to display their products and offer visitors a variety of options. The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority announced the organization of a series of innovative entertainment shows and cultural experiences inspired by local heritage during the period from March 20 to 24, in celebration of Eid Al-Fitr and its authentic traditions. This comes within the framework of the Authority's responsibilities and its support for the 'Eid in Dubai' campaign, which falls under the 'Al-‘Ulfa' season initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen family bonds and celebrate Emirati community and cultural occasions, contributing to the revival of local cultural heritage and reinforcing the values of communication, generosity, and solidarity, as well as enhancing the warmth of social relations and the spirit of camaraderie among community members. Throughout the Eid days, visitors to the Union Museum can look forward to the 'Frame of Memories' workshop, which aims to empower families to document their Eid moments in the museum in a creative way that strengthens family bonds through photography and coloring using specialized art tools. Participants in the 'Commemorative Union Stamp' workshop, inspired by the museum's motifs, will also have the opportunity to design their own commemorative card using stamps inspired by the museum's symbols and the Union's history. The museum will also offer a series of guided tours that allow the public to explore the museum's rich archive, learn about the story of the Union's establishment and its historical significance, and the key milestones that contributed to the founding of the United Arab Emirates and the consolidation of its legacy and national identity. 'Dubai Culture' will bring families together at the Shindagha Museum, the largest heritage museum in the Emirates, to enjoy the 'Eid Trail,' which allows them to visit the museum's various houses and pavilions and learn about the history of Dubai and the Emirates, their heritage, and culture through a diverse collection of artifacts, displays, films, and old photographs. This enables them to explore the features of local social life and the system of local customs and traditions associated with Eid. The Visitor's Center will host the 'Coffee of Eid' workshop, where participants can enjoy the rituals of coffee serving as a symbol of hospitality and an embodiment of the generosity and 'al-‘ulfa' characteristic of the local community. Visitors will also have the chance to experience a series of inspiring cultural experiences, including the 'Dinner Club' event, where Emirati chef Saad Al Awadi presents an exclusive menu inspired by the ambiance of Eid. Meanwhile, Dr. Azra Khamisa will focus, in the 'Tili Circle' workshop, on teaching visitors at the 'House of Traditional Crafts' the origins and techniques of the traditional Tili craft. There will also be a 'Weaving on Photos' workshop that highlights the art of contemporary embroidery on photos and prints. In the same context, the 'House of Adornment and Beauty' will host a 'Design the Eid Garment' workshop, while the 'House of Traditional Jewelry' will organize the interactive 'Eid Adornments' workshop, which introduces visitors to the methods of silver crafting and allows them to create pieces inspired by local heritage.
