Dubai's Culture and Arts Authority has launched a used book fair at 'Jumeirah Avenue' in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), offering around 4,000 titles for knowledge and culture enthusiasts. The fair provides visitors with an opportunity to explore diverse literary treasures across various genres and languages. Under the slogan 'Donate a book... and make a difference,' books pass from one reader to another, carrying the value of knowledge and the spirit of participation, creating an immersive journey through titles that have experienced the journeys of previous readers and bearing the marks of time. The fair, which features a wide range of titles, allows visitors to rediscover the joy of reading at symbolic prices, making books more accessible to everyone and transforming them into a shared cultural practice. 'The used book fair plays an important role in spreading a reading culture in society as an intellectual, human, and social value,' said Iman Al Hammadi, Director of the Literature Department at Dubai's Culture and Arts Authority. 'It also reflects the efforts of Dubai Culture to promote cultural sustainability and support the presence and circulation of books among readers, which helps make culture accessible to all.' The fair, running until the 5th of next month, includes over 4,000 titles in Arabic and English across various knowledge fields, making it an open space for all age groups, from children and youth to families and researchers, who can discover new titles at symbolic prices, encouraging book ownership and sharing. 'The fair features a rich variety of titles displayed at symbolic prices ranging from 3 to 10 dirhams,' Al Hammadi noted. With every book purchased, the fair makes a real difference, as all its proceeds go directly to support the mission of 'Dubai Giving' in enabling education for children worldwide.
