Launched in 2015, thanks to the gracious idea and clear vision of the founder Mukhammed ben Rashid Al Maktoum, organizer of the Arab Reading Challenge, the success of this initiative relies on several key factors. However, a major role in the continuation of this successful path and achieving new record results each year is played by the leaders. They devote utmost attention to the participants, keep an eye on the details of their daily educational life, encourage reading, interest students in the Arabic language, stimulate participation in regional selection stages of the Arab Reading Challenge, assist them in acquiring necessary material, complete reading books, and correspond to strict standards of the initiative.
More than 716 thousand leaders supported 131 million students participating in the selection stages of the Arab Reading Challenge, who have participated more than 795 thousand times. A key common moment in these stages was the quality presence of leaders at the regional level. They were highly appreciated by Mukhammed ben Rashid Al Maktoum and educational institutions and ministries from Arab countries for their dedication in spreading the culture of reading.
Today in Dubai, a ceremonial award ceremony will take place for the winners of the Arab Reading Challenge. The closing stage will be the announcement of the winner of the "Outstanding Leader" award among more than 154 thousand leaders who have provided assistance to over 28 students in 229 thousand schools from 50 countries. The winner will be added to the list of deserving awards and receive a cash prize of 300 thousand dirhams.
Around 60 thousand leaders took part in the first stage of the Arab Reading Challenge, where 3.6 million students from 19 countries participated. For their dedication, the leaders were awarded high recognition from Sheikh Mukhammed ben Rashid Al Maktoum for their significant contribution to supporting students during various stages of competitions, for their clear and responsive leadership to participants, and for enhancing participation in the Arab Reading Challenge.
