Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the successful completion of the road marking and upgrading project in 25 key areas across the emirate. This project is part of the plans for the RTA's preventive maintenance for the current year, which includes the updating of road markings on Dubai's highways, main roads, residential areas, and several major intersections.
"The works involved the re-marking and technical servicing of the road markings covered four main streets: Umm Al Sheif Street, Umm Suqeim Street, Ras Al Khor Street, and Dubai-Hatta Street. Additionally, the markings were updated in the internal roads of 21 areas, including, for example, Trade Centre 1 and 2, Al Quoz 1, 3 and 4, Ghadeer Al Teir, Al Safa 1 and 2, Umm Suqeim 2 and 3, and also the re-marking of several main intersections (yellow box), including the intersection of Al Ittihad Street with Al Nahda Street and the intersection of Abu Bakr Al Siddique Street with Al Muraqqabat Street," said Abdulla Ali Luta, Director of Roads and Facilities Maintenance at the RTA.
He noted that the road marking works on the roads from the traffic department have been expanded to include the identification of traffic lanes, parking space lines, paid parking spaces, traffic calming measures (speed bumps), pedestrian crossings, directional arrows, and the updating of markings at key intersections with adherence to the highest international safety standards.
"This ensures all necessary safety measures during the execution of work for maintaining the transport movement on these areas and achieving the highest levels of safety in the road network in Dubai," added Luta.
The main goal of this project is to further enhance road safety and the quality of road surfaces in the emirate to direct drivers along the safest and most efficient routes during their journeys.
