Spotify Enhances Podcast Commenting Features

Spotify has introduced new tools for podcast creators to manage and moderate comments on their content. These updates aim to improve user interaction and ensure respectful discussions.

Spotify Enhances Podcast Commenting Features

In July of last year, the music platform and service for listening to audio content Spotify began allowing listeners to comment on posts created by the content creators, such as podcasts, on the platform. A new set of tools has recently been added for managing comments, to help content creators moderate and edit comments.

According to a specialized technology site TechCrunch, when the ability to leave comments arose, content creators on the platform had to consider them before publication. Now the platform has added an automatic moderation tool, which can block sensitive or inappropriate comments, so that the content creator can simply view them and automatically publish the others.

When a new tool is set up in standard mode, it will block potentially sensitive or inappropriate comments, directing them for review by the podcast creator. In "high" mode, the tool will keep all comments until approved, while in "low" mode, all comments will be published except those that violate Spotify's own terms.

Spotify explained that even if a content creator publishes sensitive comments or they are automatically published, these comments will be hidden, and the user will have to enable the option to display all comments to see them. Additionally, content creators can add words, phrases, or emojis to a blacklist for blocking comments containing them.
