
In the framework of the efforts to prepare for future weather changes, the General Civil Aviation Authority announced the holding of a joint master class with strategic partners in Dubai. During the workshop, the challenges related to weather instability and the sharing of experiences that contribute to enhancing readiness for similar situations were discussed.
About 30 individuals from various organizations took part in the event, including the Dubai Civil Aviation Center, Dubai Airports, Dubai Air Navigation Services "DANJ", Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority "DEWA" and Flydubai.
The event focused on the challenges associated with weather conditions such as heavy rains and discussed the importance of preparation for these conditions to ensure the safety of air traffic and passenger flows at Dubai airports during the continued winter season. The Director of the General Civil Aviation Authority emphasized that the joint efforts of all stakeholders are crucial for effectively responding to future challenges and ensuring the highest levels of safety and flight efficiency.
During the master class, problems that may arise as a result of heavy rains, such as flight delays and passenger overloads, were discussed. Innovative solutions were proposed, including the improvement of airport canalization systems, streamlining traffic to the airports, enhancing technologies for early weather alerts, as well as training ground and aircrew in managing crisis situations related to heavy rains.
