A roundtable on the topic of "The Role of Institutions in Achieving Sustainable Development" took place at the library of Mohammed bin Rashid, with the participation of leading companies from the UAE. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen collaboration between different sectors to discuss Dubai's experience in the area of sustainable development, achieving a balance between economic development and environmental protection.

Abdul Salam al-Mazrui, a member of the council of Mohammed bin Rashid Library, emphasized the important role of cultural and educational institutions in ensuring sustainable development. In turn, Dr. Imad as-Siuf, a professor of engineering at Sharjah University, discussed the university's work on achieving carbon neutrality and emissions reduction, with a focus on scientific research for combating climate change.

Furthermore, words were spoken by Jamal Hamza as-Sabt, a leading engineer in sustainable development and climate change in Dubai's water and electricity sector, presenting the main achievements in sustainability and discussing strategies for sustainable energy and future projects.

Engineer Shaima al-Ali from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure also spoke, highlighting the importance of developing sustainable infrastructure and presenting guidance on sustainable development. The General Director of Diamond Developers, the city of sustainable development in Dubai, Miura al-Nakhlaoui, talked about the "City of Sustainable Development" project in Dubai, as a model for future cities, emphasizing the importance of integrated smart architectural design, which contributes to improving the quality of life and preserving the surrounding nature.

The event was also summarized by the director of the health department, safety, and corporate sustainability of Dubai's road and transport authority, Ahmed al-Hatimi, discussing the concept of "sustainability in transport and communications" and explaining the authority's plans for developing transport based on clean energy, such as electric transport systems and integrated transport systems.
