In the past 24 hours, Dubai police, in cooperation with the Al-Havana police station and the General Operations Department, confiscated 23 vehicles and three motorcycles in the Al-Havana area, whose drivers had made illegal modifications causing loud noises and disturbances. This was stated by Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic of Dubai Police. He noted that these confiscations are part of a campaign to raise awareness of road safety, launched under the motto "Safe Roads for All".
"These campaigns aim to improve road safety, increase awareness among participants in road traffic from all sectors of society, reduce accidents, especially severe ones, and foster a culture of road responsibility," emphasized Al Mazrouei. He warned drivers about reckless and illegal driving, which can jeopardize their lives, the lives of others, or public safety, as well as cause harm to roads.
Al Mazrouei called on the community to report negative behavioral aspects through the apps "Police Eye" or "We are all police", available in the Dubai Police Smart application or by calling number 901. He also noted that the fine for the release of confiscated vehicles in such cases could reach 10,000 dirhams. He stressed that equipped vehicles with technologies that increase engine speed, causing noise, pose a threat and risk to the residents of the neighborhoods.
He also called on the community to support the campaign "Safe Roads for All", promoting responsible driving and road safety. He added that 24 fines had been issued for violations. According to Resolution No. 30 of 2023 on the confiscation of vehicles, administrative confiscation is mandatory for vehicles that have undergone modifications resulting in increased speed or excessive noise while driving.
