Chairman of the Committee on Managing Affairs in the Organization for Poaching, Abdullahi Al-Ukhaybi, confirmed that the poaching tournament for development is part of a strategy aimed at providing constant opportunities for the development of divers and supporting the diving community by strengthening technical competence and fair competition. He noted that the tournament focuses on divers with limited experience, allowing them to develop skills through participation in various competitions.
The poaching tournament for development started yesterday with the participation of 600 divers from 80 different countries, representing 26 government clubs and private academies. The competitions are held in the Hamdan Complex for sports in Dubai, with the participation of the Dubai Sports Council and Apex Sports Company.
Al-Ukhaybi stated for 'Emirates Today': 'The tournament is designed for development, where divers with intermediate credentials compete, creating a supportive and fair environment for divers with basic technical levels. Through this step, the Organization aims to encourage divers and their parents, as well as provide all necessary support for the development of diving in the UAE.'
Within the framework of the tournament, divers will participate in various competitions, including sprints and endurance tests, with the distribution of more than 250 different medals. The organizing committee will reward the trainers with letters of thanks for their contributions to the skill development of divers, and all participating divers will receive official participation certificates to support them at technical and academic levels, as well as to increase their future opportunities.
