On Cultural and Scientific Week, today evening the sixth session "Exhibitions in the UAE on Hobbies and Collecting" has been opened, where amazing items from the collection and their rarity were presented, including UAE postal cards to the union, calculators, birch bark, wooden items, dream catchers, mini-butterfly game tickets and gifts from the world champion match in Qatar, artifacts from world museums, silver boxes, chess, Abu Dhabi’s participation in Expo 1970 in Osaka, tiles, printers, books on currencies, publications on the UAE, vintage school supplies, parades from the UAE, sports publications, hand watches with logos of emirate institutions, souvenirs from the Sharjah club, first editions of the UAE, emirate newspapers and some old newspapers from the Persian Gulf, and also official gifts from postal departments at the level of the Arab world.
The president of the managing council of Cultural and Scientific Week in Dubai, Bilel Al-Badur noted that the sixth season highlights the diversity and wonder of items, which make up the richness of the exhibition. This success is supported by hobby and collector enthusiasts, stimulating their hobbies and collections, in order to inspire different generations on the development of their passion and the work on collectible items that preserve history or document new creativity, underlying innovative aspirations in this field.
In this season, 24 participants are involved, some of whom are participating for the first time. The collections are diverse, hobbyists are different and vary in depth, amazement, ease, excitement, and wonder.
