The United Nations warned on Tuesday that millions of refugees and displaced people will face a harsh winter, as humanitarian aid is far less available this year as the coldest months approach the Northern Hemisphere. Dominique Hyde, External Relations Officer for the UN Refugee Agency, said in a statement: "Families will be forced to endure sub-zero temperatures without things we consider basic: a proper roof, insulation, heating, blankets, warm clothes, and medicine." The UN Refugee Agency has seen a decline in its funding from governments, as it attempts to raise $35 million in public donations to help Syrian, Afghan, and Ukrainian refugees during the winter.
