This year's edition of the "Together We Walk" initiative, a leading community health program organized by TECOM Group in partnership with Dubai Cares, invites participants to walk, jog, or run 3.5 km, and cycling enthusiasts to ride 17 km in support of its goals.
The prevention and continuous monitoring of diabetes are a priority in public health. The International Diabetes Federation indicates that there are more than 85 million people with diabetes in the Middle East and North Africa region.
We affirm our commitment to continue enhancing community participation in important social and health issues through such leading initiatives that aim to raise awareness about diabetes prevention and treatment, in line with the goals of "We the UAE 2031 Vision" and Dubai's Social Agenda 33.
Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Cares, expressed his pride in collaborating with TECOM Group to organize the "Together We Walk" event, stating: "Our participation stems from the core pillars of our strategy and corporate values, and our commitment to activating charitable work, enhancing social solidarity and human connection with various segments of society according to the authentic humanitarian approach supported by our wise leadership, which has made our country a global model in humanitarian work and cemented its image as a beacon of giving."
In addition to walking routes around Dubai Science Park, this year's edition promises participants a fun-filled atmosphere with theatrical performances, live shows, interactive games, educational platforms, fitness activities, and events for all age groups.
The 2025 edition of the "Together We Walk" initiative attracts participants from the public and private sectors and is supported by a wide network of top partners. In this year's edition, we are pleased to invite both cycling enthusiasts and families to participate in this prominent event.
Therefore, the "Together We Walk" initiative calls on the residents of Dubai, corporations, and families to enjoy a distinctive day that combines health, community, and charitable activities to raise awareness about diabetes. All proceeds from this initiative will go to support Dubai Cares and raise awareness about the importance of preventing and monitoring diabetes, especially among children.
On this occasion, Hifa Zamzam, Executive Vice President of TECOM Group for Strategic Planning and Marketing and Chair of the Group's Environmental, Social, and Governance Committee, noted that raising general awareness about the various challenges faced by community members and contributing to addressing them is an integral part of an individual's civic responsibilities and duties towards society.
We call everyone to join us in this vital initiative to build a healthier and happier community together."
Participants in this year's edition can look forward to numerous prizes and gifts, as well as a wide range of recreational activities, live performances, and fitness sessions throughout the morning. The event will also feature a special zone organized by "Real Madrid World," where participants will have the opportunity to meet football legend and Real Madrid team ambassador Roberto Carlos.
