A recent scientific study conducted by researchers from "ZOE" Institute and King's College London reveals that people who consume almonds daily are less likely to develop brain diseases such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and multiple sclerosis.

Almonds are characterized by their content of monounsaturated fats, omega-6 fatty acids, fiber, vitamin E, and polyphenols. These nutrients are linked to improved vascular health and a reduced risk of heart disease, as well as playing a role in supporting brain function.

Almonds are also a rich source of fiber, which supports digestive health, helps regulate bowel movements, and reduces the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and colon cancer.

Regarding fats, despite their high content, they are of the healthy type beneficial for the heart and blood vessels, according to nutrition experts.

"Vascular health is a fundamental factor in preventing dementia," says Sarah Perry, Lead Scientist at the "ZOE" Institute and an Honorary Professor at King's College London, noting that damage to small vessels in the brain is associated with multiple cognitive disorders.

The study included more than 160,000 people in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Despite its many benefits, some individuals, such as those with nut allergies or kidney and thyroid problems, are advised to exercise caution when consuming almonds.

Experts conclude that almonds, whether consumed whole, roasted, or added to various meals, remain a healthy food choice that can play a significant role in supporting both brain and body health.
