Dubai Integrates Art into the Healthcare Sector

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced that the Dubai Health Authority has joined the "Art for Good - Health Sector" initiative. The primary goal of this initiative is to integrate art and creativity into therapeutic environments and healthcare facilities using innovative methods. These approaches focus on enhancing human well-being, promoting mental health, and alleviating stress for patients, their families, and medical staff. This effort aligns perfectly with the authority's community responsibilities and Dubai's strategic objectives to improve the overall quality of life.

"Art represents a unique language for expressing emotions and serves as an effective therapeutic tool that instills hope in the hearts of patients. It motivates them to engage culturally and communicate with others. Through this initiative, Dubai Culture aims to strengthen the values of cohesion and solidarity, harnessing creativity to serve the community. We are transforming health facilities into inspiring spaces that help reduce tension for their visitors."

A number of hospitals in Dubai have committed to supporting the initiative by collaborating with artists, creatives, and community members. They will be empowered to implement a series of projects and programs inspired by local heritage and national identity within their health facilities. This integration is expected to support the recovery process, foster community cohesion, and drive innovation. Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to engage in evaluating and developing qualitative initiatives aimed at elevating the artistic taste across various segments of society.

In its first phase, the initiative includes ten private hospitals. The collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by Hala Badri, Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and Dr. Alawi Al Sheikh Ali, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority. The signing took place on the sidelines of the World Health Conference.

"Dubai pays utmost attention to the health and life of all its residents. The 'Art for Good' initiative integrates the arts into the healthcare and treatment system as a strategic step. It reflects Dubai's vision of building a more balanced and prosperous community. This initiative represents a true commitment to providing comprehensive and innovative healthcare services in outstanding therapeutic environments that consider the sensory and moral aspects of patients, stimulating a speedy recovery."
