The Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Department of the Planning and Development Licensing Sector, affiliated with the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, has issued urgent guidelines and directives aimed at enhancing safety levels and ensuring the protection of individuals, assets, and business continuity. The corporation emphasized the necessity for all licensees, operators, clients, and relevant parties within its jurisdiction to exercise the highest degree of caution and vigilance, while strictly adhering to approved operational procedures in rainy weather conditions according to each entity's approved emergency plans. This includes ensuring the readiness of work teams and enhancing rapid response capabilities to address any developments. The corporation stressed the importance of continuously monitoring updates from relevant authorities and taking all necessary precautionary measures in a timely manner, alongside maintaining direct and continuous coordination with the Dubai World Ports Operations Center to ensure swift response and efficient handling of emergency situations. The corporation urged the avoidance of non-essential travel, staying away from low-lying areas and regions prone to rainwater accumulation or floods, and refraining from driving on flooded roads or wadis. It also highlighted the importance of not obstructing traffic or emergency and rescue vehicles during crises and the need to protect and cover electrical equipment to prevent damage from rainwater. The corporation underscored the importance of implementing all necessary measures to protect workers, ensuring business continuity in a safe and responsible manner. Eng. Abdullah Mohammed Balhol, CEO of the Planning and Development Licensing Sector, stated that the safety of individuals and the sustainability of infrastructure are the top priority. He emphasized, under these exceptional weather conditions, the importance of all entities complying with Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability requirements and adhering to the highest standards of readiness and response.
