Investment in the minds of the new generation will contribute to their mastery of skills that will help them cope with the challenges of modernity. It has been noted that the intensified efforts aimed at promoting and supporting the reading habits among the conscripts of the National Service in the Armed Forces serve as a key element in ensuring sustainable cognitive development, supporting that the 'World of Reading' initiative was launched to achieve the goals set by the country's leadership in the armament of society with knowledge and information, making reading a key factor in society.
Since the launch in April 2023, the 'World of Reading' initiative has facilitated the distribution of knowledge among more than a quarter of a million recipients from various regions of the country. It gifted the Mukhammed bin Rashid Library more than 80 thousand books in Arabic and English on various specializations and fields known to about 200 educational institutions and schools in the public and private sectors.
"Within the framework of the 'World of Reading' initiative, and in connection with the month of reading, the Mukhammed bin Rashid Library has provided 5,000 books in Arabic and English to the conscripts of the National Service in the Armed Forces, matching its strategy and vision for the dissemination of knowledge and establishing a reading culture as a way of life among community members," said a member of the library management council, Mukhammed bin Rashid Library, Dr. Mohammed Salem Almazrouei.
He added, "We believe in the Mukhammed bin Rashid Library that reading is a key to development and innovation, and that investing in the minds of the new generation and encouraging them to read, especially our children among the conscripts of the armed forces, will undoubtedly help them develop skills and tools that will help them cope with the challenges of the era and prepare them to be active leaders in the future."
The Ministry of Culture expressed appreciation for leading the Mukhammed bin Rashid Library and its efforts in forming educational and enlightening initiatives, contributing to the upbringing of the emerging generation and the enlightened society in all encompassing cognitive and cultural fields.
