The Mohammed bin Rashid Award for the Arabic Language, an initiative under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum Global Initiatives and organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum Library Foundation, has announced the opening of nominations for its tenth cycle under the slogan '10 Cycles: More Than Just a Number.' This celebrates a decade of achievement and contribution, reflecting Dubai's and the UAE's steadfast commitment to supporting the Arabic language and enhancing its global presence as a language of knowledge, creativity, and innovation.
The title of the tenth cycle embodies the core idea of celebrating this distinguished milestone. The number '10' is not read here merely as a temporal sum, but as a symbol of an extended journey of impactful initiatives that have changed the cultural and linguistic landscape, both within and beyond the Arab world.
Since its inception, the award has carried a mission that transcends mere celebration, becoming a developmental initiative that contributes to building an Arab individual who is conscious of their identity and open to the world.
Bilal Badour, Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for the Arabic Language, stated: 'Reaching the tenth cycle is not just a numerical milestone, but a confirmation of the continuity of the vision and the depth of the impact. Each cycle was a new step towards rooting the Arabic language in digital spaces and expanding its fields of use in education, media, and scientific research.'
The award has called on individuals and institutions from around the world to submit nominations through the award's official website. Registration opens on November 10, 2025, and will continue for four months.
It is 10 cycles of sustainable work in the service of the language of Al-Dhad (the Arabic language), from stimulation and creativity to digital empowerment, scientific research, and global impact.
During the previous nine cycles, the award attracted more than 17,200 nominations and 90 winners since its launch, from individuals and institutions from various countries worldwide. It has also honored many international figures in the field of the Arabic language, making it a global platform that celebrates the distinguished and contributes to enhancing the status of the Arabic language in various educational, technological, media, and cultural fields.
Bilal Badour added: 'What the award has achieved over a decade is a direct reflection of the vision and support of the wise leadership of the UAE, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him, which has made empowering the Arabic language a sustainable national and cultural project.'
He noted that 'the award has succeeded in translating His Highness's directives into tangible achievements that have made Arabic a renewable language capable of expressing the thought of the era and interacting with its scientific and technological developments.'
