Niall Shukla had previously stated that his father's passion for the camera never left him, as he would review his photographs and document his work even before being admitted to the hospital. Shukla's documentary career spanned decades, during which he documented the nation's transformations, its urban and economic development, and accompanied leaders at official events. One of his paintings was adopted by several institutions in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and one of his photographs was used as a postage stamp. Shukla arrived in the UAE in the 1960s and dedicated his life to documenting daily life and major transformations, establishing a rich visual archive that has been utilized by numerous national institutions and featured in widely acclaimed photographic books.
