High Commissioner of the UN Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al-Hussein called on the international community to raise 500 million dollars by 2025 to support mechanisms, documentation, and education programs in the field of human rights. These resources will help address the lack of funding for UN human rights bodies.
It should be noted that the UN Human Rights Office has already stated that additional resources are needed to fulfill its obligations, including strengthening the capacities of designated officials and supporting investigation mechanisms.
"We call on our partners in humanitarian assistance and human rights funds to enhance their efforts and contribute to this fund, which will ultimately ensure better protection of people's rights worldwide," said Zeid Ra'ad Al-Hussein.
This initiative aims to ensure support for people around the world who face human rights violations and victims of violence.
