His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, recently commissioned the Al Emarat Corvette (P111), a cutting-edge naval vessel designed to meet the highest international military standards.
During the official ceremony marking the induction of the warship into the naval fleet, attended by high-ranking officials, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of investing in advanced military technologies to strengthen the UAE's defence sector. He highlighted that such investments not only enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces but also boost their efficiency in performing tasks on a global scale.
The Al Emarat Corvette is equipped with innovative panoramic sensors and an advanced security intelligence unit, allowing for seamless data collection and processing. It features state-of-the-art sensor systems, including radars, electro-optical devices, an electronic warfare suite, communication antennas, and specialized weather systems, ensuring optimal operational readiness and efficiency.
Sheikh Hamdan commended the national cadres who were instrumental in the design and development of the warship, emphasizing the significance of their contributions in enhancing the UAE Navy's defensive capabilities. He underscored that the induction of the vessel represents a substantial step towards safeguarding the nation's coastline and strategic interests.
The Crown Prince reiterated the UAE Navy's commitment to continuous innovation and the development of national expertise across various defence sectors. He stressed the necessity of sustained efforts to ensure that the Armed Forces remain fully prepared and capable of effectively responding to any future challenges that may arise.
