UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin made universal statements. During an interview, he stated that appeals for help to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) should be the last instance for football clubs that disagree with the decisions of educational organizations regarding financial fair play. Čeferin drew attention to the potential problems with the independence and efficiency of CAS, as well as its role in football justice. He also noted that UEFA acts faster and more decisively than CAS in relation to rule violators of financial fair play.
"If we provide a fair and flexible system of fair play, then we should not be willing to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport," said Čeferin. "CAS should not be the last instance. Possibly, it should only be the first step," he added. In his address, Čeferin also expressed confidence in UEFA's work and stressed the need for strict decisions regarding rule violators.
