
At the annual general meeting with 100 participants, held on March 15, 2025, the Philippine Business Council in Dubai and Northern Emirates (PBC-DNE) announced the successful elections of the new board of directors for the term 2025 to 2027.
The elections symbolize a change in leadership and lay the foundation for PBC-DNE, entering its 24th year, to continue its mission of supporting and promoting the interests of the Philippine business community in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
The chairman of the council was elected Architect Asia Monhardin, Managing Partner of Multiline Design and Contracting LLC, and Managing Director of The Desert Wok restaurant. Other leading positions include Vice-Chairman Mikhail de Costa and General Secretary Architect Wilfredo Llarena-jr.
Among the other elected members of the board of directors are Melon Perez, Dr. Merry Jane Alvero-Almadi, Mariben Eustakio, Robert Capulong, Daisy Kalabia, and Sheila Alkaraz. Their chosen positions will contribute to advancing membership and raising the status of Philippine enterprises in the UAE.
At the event, Alphonse Ferdinand A. Ver, who challenged the new PBC-DNE council to increase membership and fulfill his mission of uplifting and enhancing the profile of Philippine enterprises in the UAE, was noted.
Former chairman Edwin Duria summarized the achievements and key accomplishments of the previous council in his farewell report, after which the Chair of the Electing Committee, Dr. Sharen Mendozas, presented the voting procedures. The voting results indicated who was elected to the new board of directors.
