On Thursday, the European Union announced its intention to file a complaint with the World Trade Organization against China over violations of intellectual property rights. This was reported by the President of the EU Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
According to her, the EU considers unfair trade practices and piracy to be unacceptable. The Commission also plans to strengthen measures to combat practices of unfair competition and illegal use of intellectual property.
"We are obliged to protect our companies and our citizens from unfair competition and aggressive behavior," noted von der Leyen.
