
The Maket of Mohammadi ben Rashid received a high-level cultural delegation from the Russian Federation. The delegation included the General Secretary and the Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia, Yana Alekseeva, as well as the Director of the State Children's Library of Russia, Maria Videnyabina. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the institution and its previous services, as well as discuss the possibilities of expanding cultural and educational cooperation between the countries.
The head of the Mohammadi ben Rashid institution, Al Maktoom Mohammadi Ahmed Al Mur, welcomed the delegation and expressed greetings, noting the significant strategic relationships between the two countries and the active participation of the Russian community in Dubai. He emphasized the importance of having a specialized section with books in the Russian language and presented rare works by Russian writers, such as Dostoevsky and Pushkin, at the exhibition.
Mur expressed a desire for the library to enrich its content with Russian literature in the fields of art, architecture, music, and cinema, while appreciating the rich cultural heritage and leadership of Russia in these areas. He also highlighted the UAE's efforts to support culture through quality projects, such as the National Museum of Zayed and the Museum of Natural History in Abu Dhabi.
The Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia noted the high cultural level of the UAE, particularly in the Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi and the future Museum in the Emirates. She also emphasized the collaboration between Russia and the UAE in promoting awareness of the UAE's cultural heritage in Russia.
The parties expressed a desire to strengthen collaboration between Maket Mohammadi ben Rashid and Russia, given that there are more than 42 thousand libraries in Russia, including various collections of rare books and utilizing modern technologies for the presentation of advanced cultural services to the public. The importance of organizing joint cultural exhibitions between the countries was noted.
The Director of the State Children's Library of Russia, Maria Videnyabina, emphasized the important role of children's libraries in Russia, where out of 42 thousand libraries, about 300 are intended for children. Specialists in psychology work in these libraries, ready to provide a comprehensive educational and developmental experience, meeting the needs of children of different ages. She noted the children's library in Maket Mohammadi ben Rashid, which contains books, knowledge, technologies, and entertainment areas for children. Videnyabina pointed out the interest of Russian leadership in presenting Russian cultural heritage in the world, stressing the importance of the role of libraries in strengthening values and traditions among the younger generation.
