The European Union condemned on Saturday the recent Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon and called for respect for the ceasefire agreement signed in November 2024 with 'Hezbollah'.
The EU expressed serious concern over the escalation of tensions in southern Lebanon. The statement emphasizes that violence must cease immediately and that parties must return to negotiations to de-escalate the conflict.
'We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and strictly adhere to the terms of the ceasefire agreement,' the EU statement said.
The EU also called for continued diplomatic efforts to achieve a sustainable peace in the region and expressed its readiness to support this process.
