During a field visit to inspection sites at Jebel Ali Port, operated by Dubai Customs, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, was briefed on the smart inspection system enhanced with the latest artificial intelligence technologies, and on the operational mechanisms that reflect the advanced level of the emirate's port security system, as well as the proactive efforts to protect society and trade flows.
During the visit, His Highness was briefed on the operational mechanisms of advanced inspection equipment, led by the 'Gantry' container scanner and the radiation detection and protection system, which are among the world's most advanced technologies for detecting radioactive and prohibited materials. These systems offer high penetration capabilities for containers, vehicles, and heavy equipment, along with exceptional speed in conducting inspections, which facilitates trade flow without compromising security and safety requirements.
The visit also included a review of trade volumes and shipping lines at Jebel Ali Port, one of the world's leading logistics centers, and its rapid growth in cargo handling and international trade, alongside the pivotal role of Dubai Customs in applying global best practices in container inspection and balancing security requirements with operational speed.
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the advanced level achieved by the customs inspection system, commending the comprehensive efforts of Dubai Customs in leveraging modern technology and enhancing coordination with relevant entities. This strengthens the emirate's capacity to efficiently and proactively address security challenges.
A global hub Dr. Abdulla Busnad confirmed that Dubai Customs is committed to reinforcing Dubai's status as a secure global trade hub by developing national talent, fostering innovation, and enhancing international cooperation. This aligns with the goals of Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and ensures the sustainability of border and port security.
He also highlighted the support of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, a cornerstone of the emirate's security and customs framework, and praised the integration of local, federal, and international security and customs agencies in collaborative efforts and coordination to combat various forms of smuggling.
Busnad explained that Dubai Customs inspectors form the first line of defense for society and the national economy by thwarting smuggling attempts within a comprehensive security system that adheres to the highest global standards and relies on cutting-edge AI technologies for customs analysis and monitoring.
