The Russian Othman Nurmuhammadov achieves an impressive victory against the Irish Paul Hughes in the "Road to Abu Dhabi" championship and continues to shine in the world of combat sports.

Russian fighter Osman Nurmagomedov won victory over Irishman Polom Khuyzom in the main bout of the tournament "Doroga Boytsov k Dubayu" on Saturday in Koka-Kola Arena Dubai. The tournament was organized by the Professional Fighters League (PFL) with support from the Department of Economy and Tourism of Dubai and the Sports Council of Dubai.

Nurmagomedov's victory came after a tough and even bout with Khuyzom in the lightweight division, leading to a unanimous decision by the judges (47-47, 48-46 and 48-46). He received the belt of the champion under the supervision of the global scale star Khabib Nurmagomedov, representing for his professional career in martial arts.

Nurmagomedov expressed his joy regarding this important victory and stated: "I am grateful to Dubai for hosting this magnificent bout, as well as to the fans who supported me in defeating a very strong opponent. This fight required resilience and perseverance, and I am eagerly waiting to return to Dubai to participate in PFL competitions."

The tournament included 11 fights featuring 22 fighters from 13 countries, including UAE, Russia, Ireland, USA, Brazil, Great Britain, Uzbekistan, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Algeria, and the Philippines.

Notable victories included those of Emirati fighter Hadi Omar Al-Husseini over Filipino Royce Panaligan, Uzbek Mirko "Merko" Akhtamov over the Englishman Mike "Livy" Tompson, Brit Hayder Khan over Saudi Mustapha Nadim, Irishman John Mitchell over Algerian Sakhil Tahiri, and also Egyptian Ahmed Sami over Syrian Tarek Suleiman in the open weight.

Among other winners, it is worth noting the Russian Renat Khafalov over Brazilian Cleferson Fernandes in the featherweight category, the Englishman Ibragim Ibragimov over Irishman Kenni Mokhona in the heavyweight division, the Russian Akhmed Magomedov over Irishman Nathan Kelly in the lightweight category, and others. Kuwaiti fighter Talal Al-Kalayaf defeated Emirati Saeed Al-Hosani in the lightweight division among the fans.
