Quarterfinals of UAE President's Cup Showdown

In the quarter-finals, the President's Cup in football ended with a match that had no sensations. Teams that traditionally have a strong presence at this stage of the playoffs advanced. The only exception was the team Al-Ain. However, their super rival, Al-Jazira, also remains a traditional contender for the title, making the chances for both sides equal.

Overall, the quarter-finals were filled with strong performances, where tactical and technical differences between teams were evident. Several players played important roles as leaders of their teams, helping to elevate them in the playoffs. However, some disappointed their supporters with poor appearances, which became a reason for criticism of the tournament.

In the opening of the quarter-finals, Shabab Al-Ahli avoided surprises from the side of Ajman, although the Rizerai of Dubai had 65% possession of the ball. Despite the control and chances in attack, the match ended in a draw. In another game, Al-Jazira defeated Al-Ain with a single goal.

Al-Jazira and Al-Wasl (each having three titles) strive to enhance their achievements. In the playoffs, Sharja defeated Al-Jazira, and Al-Wasl defeated Shabab Al-Ahli.

Nevertheless, the effectiveness made a difference, showcasing Al-Ain's weakness in realization. Al-Wasl scored with Al-Khalifa's past performance. Sharja, with 10 titles, claimed victory thanks to a decisive goal by Cayo Lucas.

The General Secretary of the Football Federation of the UAE, Mohamed Abdullah Hazami Al-Zahiri, congratulated the teams that reached the playoffs and wished success to the others. He noted that the quarter-final matches were full of excitement and competition. The conduct of the draws after each round received positive feedback, and the Federation is listening to the clubs and fans with the aim of developing the tournament, promising to conduct a review after the season.
