Dubai Open Swimming Championship Kicks Off

The Dubai Open Swimming Championship 2025 starts today at Hamdan Sports Complex, featuring 1,294 swimmers from 122 clubs worldwide, including Olympic champions.


Dubai Open Swimming Championship Kicks Off

Today, the Dubai Open Swimming Championship 2025 started, which is held at the Hamdan Sports Complex, organized by Hamilton Aquatics Academy and ISM in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council. The tournament takes place from the 14th to the 16th of this month. This event is part of the strategy for attracting and developing sports talents launched by the Dubai Sports Council in cooperation with the directives of the Dubai government in the field of talent attraction and development across all areas.

The tournament announcement was made during a press conference at the Dubai Sports Council headquarters, where the director of the Hamdan Sports Complex, Abdulla Shahad, the representative of the Dubai Sports Council Ghazi Al-Madini, the director of Hamilton Aquatics company Eva Peppard-Clark, Olympic champion from Great Britain Duncan Scott, and world champion Ben Proud, who has a silver Olympic medal from 2024 in Paris, participated.

At this stage of the Dubai Open Swimming Championship 2025, three competing groups are represented: participants of the age group of teenagers (14-15 years) in the three-meter distance, participants of the youth group (16-17 years) in the four-meter distance, as well as the general championship competing in the five-meter distance. The total number of participants in the tournament is 1,294 athletes from 122 clubs worldwide, including 330 participants from abroad participating in 136 different competitions.

The tournament features first-class Olympic champions, world record-holders, as well as renowned athletes from across the world, making the competitions highly competitive and diverse. Some of the participants include Olympic stars such as Duncan Scott, Noah Ponte, Ben Proud, Maria-Sofi Harvey, holder of the world champion medal Lara van Niekerk, and Olympic swimmers from Hamilton Aquatics, Karin Bilbisi and Kristina Rash.
